Fest 1 og 2
This double painting grows out of a fascination with Generation Z and their fragmented reality — a present in which loneliness and community exist side by side. I have divided the composition into two worlds: on the left a young person stands alone, withdrawn, his gaze turned inward. He is surrounded by a room that feels heavy and almost motionless. This represents the quiet isolation many in Gen Z experience despite constant digital connection.
On the right the scene explodes into movement, bodies and closeness. There is laughter, dancing and physical contact — an intense moment of social energy. But this space too is charged with something fleeting, almost performative, as though it were a moment that could vanish as quickly as it arose.
The contrast between the two scenes mirrors a generation navigating between screen and reality, between being seen and feeling invisible. The smiley motif points to an ironic emotional code — a symbol of how feelings are often masked or simplified.
