In this large oil painting I explore the emotional landscape of Generation Z — a place where intensity, contrast and the rush of the moment take centre stage. I have divided the picture diagonally, almost like a psychological tension between two states: the collective and the individual.

On the left we see a community, young people gathered in a close, almost intimate situation. The colours are cool, fluid, almost dreamlike. There is a sense of belonging here, but also something fragile — as if the relationships were in constant motion, never quite stable. This mirrors how Generation Z seeks genuine contact, but often experiences it as fleeting.

On the right this is broken by a more explosive, intense energy. Warm, almost aggressive colours embrace a figure who stands alone, yet elevated in the moment. The bottle is raised, a symbol of both celebration and escape. There is a duality here — a longing to feel more, but also a risk of losing oneself.

As an artist I am interested in how Generation Z navigates between extremes: closeness and isolation, control and chaos, reality and escapism. The picture offers no answer, but invites the viewer to feel the tension of being young at a time when the emotions are often as intense as the colours.
